The SV 40 Virus and the Potential for Gene Therapy

SV 40 virus is notorious in the vaccine field because it contaminated the polio vaccines. There's a long debate in the clinical literature as to whether that calls cancer or not. We don't have evidence of integration yet. All we know is that it has these elements in it and these elements certainly increase the chance of integration, particularly based on the long debate about reverse transcriptase.
