The Rise of Flickr

At the time that we started working on Flickr, we had no idea what we're doing, but most people did. There was a handful of people in the world at eBay, at Yahoo, at Google who had built things at internet scale. But actually, we wanted to go back to the resiliency thing. Here's the part that you don't imagine when you start a company, or you probably don't. One of the things you got to do is tell a story that people can believe in.
