The Story of Rol Doll
Rol doll's parents were norwegian. His father a wealthy and had originally been married to a frenchwoman, and they had two daughters together. After the first wife died, he married again to doll's mother, who had come from norway to england or wales just five years before. Rold was sent to a series of public schools, which we in america call private schools. Doll hated life. He hated the hazing, the cruelty, the status climbing and the authoritarianism. The canings could be quite severe. And once his friend michael was so viciously beaten that doll later said he began to doubt whether god was real.
