It's understandable that praying the rosary would be an awkward thing, especially if you'd been told in the past that it is somehow evil. The very first prayer that we have to mary comes from the third or fourth centuries. There was a development in the early church where some erians prayed to the saints. And there's a lot of early christians who aren't talking against praying to Mary. So consider that maybe that'll help with your own spiritual journey.
