Tokugawa Yannari and the Shogunate

Yannari was born the biological son of Hitotsbashi Harusada, who in turn was descended from the 9th Shogun Yoshimune's 4th son, Munatada. Yannari was adopted into the primary Tokugawa branch in 1781 at the tender age of 8 by the Western Reckoning. His youth made him the ideal candidate in the eyes of one of the Shogun's advisors. Matsudaira Sada Nobu wanted a young, pliable Shogun in office so he could have it by controlling him from behind the scenes.
