The Mystery of Louis Sartain's Death
Louis Sartain's body had been too long in the grave to do its duty. Creole Williams was acquitted, and at liberty to live a long, free life. A few weeks later he got into a drunken row with a fellow roused about named Joe Mounts who hit him over the head with a wooden roller. Dr. Allison was called in to treat his crushed skull, and went about doing so by boring a half-inch diameter hole into his brain. We're lucky that today's forensics are based on solid, peer-reviewed, falsifiable, and dispassionate science, rather than prejudice and superstition.
