The Principle of Synchronicity in Magic
Any kind of sigh experiment is an exercise in creating a synchronicity. We design something, it happens. Usually we don't know exactly how it would happen. It might be that there is no classical mechanism when it comes to consciousness. If idealism or dual aspect monism is a better model of reality than strict materialism then the notion of mechanism might need to change.
