The Coolish Off Effect
The coolish off effect makes me think of is the affect heuristic where, you know, the quick moving part of our brain will substitute an easy question in place of a more difficult question. So if you're looking at a person and you're trying to figure out what does that person feel or what is he thinking? Like, that's a difficult question if you don't have the benefit of peering into his brain. But your own brain will sort of substitute an easier question of, well, how do I feel?
