Are We All Survivers of This Volcanic Explosion?

The whole human population comes from a very small group of people around 70 thousand years ago. They call this like a genetic bottle neck. By definition, we all come from survivors. But this almost wiped us out. It could have been the end of humanity. And they got busy doing it. The eruption killed a lot of extant humans, only, leaving a small population which then were the ancestors for everybody who's alive to day.
