This is kind of tripping with 80s vibes. I think what I'm hearing now is more like Lionel Richie or Backstreet Boys. There's something a little less textured about this album. Jack Antonoff sometimes wanted to just write an old standard, like something that Adele could sing. But his voice was too small to be a stand-in for those old standards.
