The Importance of Clarification in the Business World
The biggest air disaster that has ever happened was in Tenerife, where a pilot thought he actually had clearance. In those days, you can have lots of clearance, or you are clear, but it can be, you are clear just to move to a certain path,. Whereas now they've actually controlled the language that you use. But yeah, so he just presumed you were clear for takeoff. So he just went, whereas there was another aircraft already on the runway, and so that's how they collided.
