The Origins of the Laws of Nature
In chapter one here, though, examples of primitive natural laws would be just where are you reading? That's like a primitive thing before any societies exist. If there were intelligent beings that have received some kindness from another being, they ought to be grateful for it. This is just that kind of like fitness, rationalist take on ethics as a contrast to Hume. But then when we get to chapter two, we're not hearing about that. He's defining the laws of nature, and none of them are normative. It's odd.
