A closed end fund is older than an ETF and has been around for over 100 years. They tend to produce more income from the fund, where a lot ofETFs are more on the 2% to 5% range. Some CEA closing funds will compete with the market and some are just there for the income. You won't get much capital appreciation only but I like them because they produce a lot of income.
