The building that is used for the exterior of the house that the vampires live in was peter jackson's office when he was alod. They lost a charred skeleton body during the shot that they like, throw, throw into the harbor for a funeral scene. The scene didn't end up in the film, but they didn't realize that it was drifting away. And it was so realistic looking that they had to send out a press release in cosles like, charred remains confound that it's all my god.
