Walton Millie's Promotion to Camp Correspondent

On February 19, 1942, Roosevelt signs executive order 9066 calling for the forced removal of all persons deemed a threat to national security from the West coast. Most residents are given six days to pack up one suitcase and move to a relocation center a thousand miles away in Manzanar, California. People are forced to make arrangements with their non-Japanese friends and neighbors to look after their farms, pets and belongings while they're away.
