The Impact of Podcasts on the World
Spencer: We don't know what kind of impact we do have on the world. You never know when that person whom you helped at one time is going to change the world in some way, or save somebody's life. And i would say actually being a doctor often felt like a lonely thing because you were out there spending all your day trying to help people right and solve their problems. It didn't necessarely always come back to you but once I remember it was with someone who came in for a regular appointment and said something like, 'Your husband isn't really here yet' That 30 second interaction could make a difference.
