Musk's Plan to Build a Mega Battery Factory
The biggest customer of SpaceX is NASA. So he's really constantly walking that line between the US and China, which made it extremely interesting geopolitically. Both Beijing and Washington are looking at this one to use him to say, you see, we're a nice people in Beijing. And then Washington saying this is not something that we should be telling. That was the whole story, but he went there for three main reasons. On top of that, he wants to build a mega battery factory. He wants to build like 10,000 mega batteries every year. Large scale energy storage and the biggest market in the world for energy storage is China.
