Is AI a Tool for the State to Surveil?
I'm struck by how much this parallels a general debate in law about rules and standards. There's already a really good let's show a mess in the policing context, but I think that thought of flipping the script with respect to AI is very interesting. We don't often know what ingredients are going into your interpretation of a standard, like the famous line, you know, I know it when I see it, right? Well, you might see something and think one thing and I might seesomething and think another. It also forces us to reflect back and ask whether or not we have an internal system within our community to answer those sophisticated questions well.
