Van Dusen wanted to have a racially diverse cast and took this like idea of, well, what if Queen Charlotte was black. And she used her stature to like bestow titles on formal enslaved people or other people of color that were living in Britain at the time. So it is not like trying to just ignore it, but it is also like fabricating a bunch of things in terms of, you know, history and how these characters came to their power.
