The Joint Committee on Taxation is a nonpartisan group that performs analysis for Congress. They estimate that this $80 billion budget boost will enable the IRS to collect an additional $200 billion in taxes. At a cost of $80 billion, the IRS is going to bring in $200 billion more, except here's the fine print.
