Abby Warburg was a highly eccentric German art historian. His final work in about 28 and 1929 was a thing called the builder atlas, the picture atlas. He had 60 panels about six feet high, four feet wide, on which he tagged murder. So literally situating ideas in space juxtaposing them is an analog sort of soft space. The meaning comes from the connections and the associations.
