French Colonization in the Lesser Antilles

In saint martin, the island was peaceably divided between rival colonies. The french colony in the northern part of the island co existing with a dutch colony in the south. And it happens that to day, saint martin is the smallest island in the world that is divided between two sovereign nations. It is still french territory in the north and dutch in the South.
