The Anointing of a Woman in the Gospel of Mark

The unnamed woman who anoints Jesus is virtually forgotten in the four gospels. Why might this have happened over 40 or 50 years after Christ between Mark and John? One of the major theories is just that in a patriarchal culture, which again was just the norm, it's just the way that their culture was. For people who are looking for ways to change how they practice Christianity in their spiritual daily lives, I think we could try to come back to whatever Jesus version of the gospel was by truly remembering this story.
