I think the Brits have actually been psychologically quite good at handling that compared to the way other countries might deal with their decline in such a way. I just think that when you both lose power internationally and then kind of tear up your own cultural traditions at the same time, you're going to create a very unhappy, listless, meaningless civic experience. That's what we have to be concerned about. And patriotism as a tribal entity is a lot healthier than identity politics as an expression of tribalism because the one brings together the other tesas apart.
