The Fall of Southwest Airlines Pilots
The National Mediation Board denied a request from the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association to be released from mediated contract talks. This would have triggered a 30-day cooling off period and possibly a strike. With Pilots settled at Delta United and American, I would expect they should be able to get a deal soon. It's clear what the market pay rates are for 737 Pilots and by extension A320 Pilots. The low-cost airlines haven't been as profitable and I think the higher pilot rates will eventually get down to them.
