As a manager at point 72, I would try and find underutilized people in other departments. People I thought had a lot more potential than the roles they were in. And then I created a chief of staff role where once a year I would hire somebody out of a different area of the farm to shadow me for a year. It really accelerated their career development; that was a lot of fun for me.
