The Congo Wars

The second Congo War lasted from 1998 to 2003, with over 5.4 million people dying in their conflict. A death toll higher than all of the belligerents in the Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Korean wars combined. Why didn't we see any intervention from the United States or other Western forces? There's numerous factors there. The first reason you saw it little or not enough involvement, perhaps, was the Iran and genocide. And then Rwanda, similarly in case of the Eastern Congo, were reluctant to act.
