An alanon to me has been very, very helpful in dealing with family members that have addiction issues. They're unable to make healthy choices that protect themselves and it's a terrifying place to be. Did your parents know that you were in such bad shape when the intervention was happening? Were they included in the intervention? "They really didn't understand"
