The LDL's Half-Life Is Like an Hour

The cholesterol that was in any VLDL particles or chylos, once they're depleted of their triglycerides, is rapidly returned to the liver. LDL receptors prefer to clear particles with APO-E and APO-B on it. That means LDL particles have an immensely longer plasma residence time than do kylos for sure. The LDL hangs around from two to three to four to five days. Evolution wanted an LDL to hang around for that long.
