How Did You Learn How to Run a Music Company?

We decided Atlanta by looking at a map and saying, how about Atlanta? And we did it. We opened up a little office and called it LaFace Records. Before long, the talent just came running because we were the only shop in town. I didn't know how to run a company, but what I did know was how to manage people. How did you know that? Because I was a band leader for so many years. There's not very much difference between being a band leader and being a CEO of a music company because it's managing talent.
