It looked at over a hundred thousand patients who had been on at least 50 milligrams of morphine equivalents for more than 12 months. They saw that in patients who were tapered, there was a significantly higher rate of overdose and a significantly higher rates of mental health crises among those who were tapeered compared to those who were not.
