The Importance of Encryption
To encrypt with weak cryptography is to indicate not too much desire for privacy. If you have a really long password or private key, all of a sudden it becomes well, instead of a second, it will take you a month. Even if everyone on the planet would use rather short passwords, there isn't enough compute power for that attacker to do that. So however, a more dedicated attacker who maybe just wants to attack you and not the entire planet has enough resources to to make an attack against you.
