Student loan forgiveness is a thorny legal issue that could end up going to the supreme court. There are some interesting tax questions or unforgiveness, but there hasn't been more talk about them. Most student debt seems to be held by people who didn't go to college at all. And it's very disproportionate in terms of how much each person owes.
