The Effects of Calcium Carbonate on Coffee

The process of slightly acidic rainwater reacting with limestone creates two things we need to be aware of when it comes to coffee. The water that is seeped down on the ground through the limestone bedrock and is coming out of your tap has bicarbonate in it. Buffering capacity means how strong one solution is able to neutralize a base or an acid. So if water has strong buffering capacities, it will neutralize the acids in our coffee. It will lower the acidity of the brew.
