The Toronto Argonauts Kidnapping

Richard Yoert was one of three men who kidnapped Mary Nellis in 1969. He and two accomplices watched the couple through binoculars at a football game. They planned to ambush them when they got home, tie them up and demand ransom. Richard testified that he tried to talk Gary Adams out of it again but his mind was made up. The gang split into two separate teams with different roles for each member. Their plan involved blindfolding their victims then gagging them before driving them north towards Muscoca where her wealthy family would rustle up the ransom immediately.
