The Politics of Utility Participation

I hate the term distributed energy resources or DERs. It's just such a wonky mouthful, and it's really the utility perspective also on things. So what are some of the ways that utilities block their participation? I agree with your editorial note there. We should defy things by what they are and not what they aren't.
