Is There a Future for Curtailed Renewables?
In the future curtailed renewables will be a feature of the system, not a bug. Network is expensive and hard to build from a publicly acceptance perspective. And if that's the world that you're in, then you're going to over produce in certain hours. The right response is not to build enough network to cater to the highest output of your wind farms or wherever it is. You're going to need to build a network that paid us to it pretty well knowing that certain times you'll spill the load.
