The Ghost Book, by Chris Van Alsburg

Caldicot metal winning author, chris van alsburg. He illustrated and wrote the books jumangi in 19 81 and the polar express in 19 85. These are indeed beautiful. Though i'm almost kind of glad i didn't look at these illustrations as a kid because if i had, i am positive i would have cemented an unbreakable association between the ghostly hooded figures in the congregation.
