Is There a Difference Between Effective Empathy and Cognitive Empathy?

A psychologist said to me, the thing about a psychopast is not necessarily the the desire to hurt someone. It's a curiosity about someone's pain, which is so folked up when you think about it. And something i learned recently as well, about psychopats that was chilling, really opened my eyes. They have strong cognitive ympathy, so they understand what you're feeling, why they're doing something awful to you, they just don't care. There's no sympathy, and they don't feel it themselves.
