The Witch Hunters
In 1486, a German Dominican friar named Heinrich Crommer wrote the Malius Malefakarum. The book was used for centuries to teach others about witches and where they came from. Matthew Hopkins was born into in 1620 England as the son of a Puritan minister. By the age of just 24 he had set up shop in Sussex under the title Witchfinder General.
