How Rapidly Do You Think This Will Change?

The size of the cutting edge foundation models that we are dealing with has been doubling every six months for the past decade or so. The capabilities of these models have suddenly crossed a sort of magical threshold where their behavior and their capabilities feel much more human-like than they used to before. It's really hard to tell how the next few rounds of doubling are going to feel for us whether we will suddenly feel that these models are exhibiting intellectual capabilities significantly above our own when it comes to recombining concepts.
