It seems to me that we entered into the worst of all worlds where you raise concerns in Moscow about the Western tensions with Ukraine, but don't actually offer any guarantees of their security. Like you have to pick one or the other, don't you, to some extent? And how then do we think about the European Union's role in this? Because obviously the thing that did change after 2008 was the negotiations began for Ukraine to have associate membership of the EU.
