The sheer volume of app-enabled assets are being added to the grid every month. It is entirely possible for that same level of dependability to be achieved by virtual power plants, which was not the case before. FERC is now trying to open wholesale markets to broader participation by aggregators of customer resources. But at this point, I really don't have a sense of if and when that will happen.
