The Relationship Between Simple and Complex Behaviors in Tourette's Syndrome
The most striking clue is the relationship between simple and complex behaviours, which is almost reversed in this population. As soon as these behaviours started, they had a degree of complexity that was unprecedented in the field of ticks. So higher complexity, lots of words and statements, not just vocalisations. But quite early on, people have been suggesting as well that ticks interfered with normal movement were quite common in functional ticks. That didn't make the diagnostic criteria in the end, I think.
