New York City's Department of Corrections

Commissioner: We do not practice solitary confinement within the New York City's Department of Corrections system. He says we have a higher level of opportunity for people to commit violence against other people in custody and staff. The only thing that we have left are two, we need restrictive housing and I'm happy to announce that we've redeveloped our restrictive housing so that those that are committing serious violent crimes can be housed in a humane way.
