Dr. Valerie Friedland has a new book coming out very soon or maybe now called Like Literally Dude. It's really about reimagining all these features in our speech that are colloquial and we tend not to like, but they help sort of ease communicative closeness. And it's sort of reimagining them as actually not bad features and positive developments in English rather than bad ones.
