The Chlorine Alarm at a Deep Well

Our utility uses water primarily from springs and deep wells. We only operate 24 hours a day when we're running our filtration plant. The chlorine detection system at the well triggered an alarm after it had detected gas in the pump house. After an hour and a half of waiting, my co-worker decided it was time for action.
