The Factor of Conceit
The third Upanjha, or the third attitude of mind, which leads to this expansionist tendency, or exploitive tendency, is the factor of conceit. And conceit is that attitude, a factor of mind,which compares oneself with others. I'm better than they are, I'm equal to them, I'm worse than they are. So just as feelings condition craving and perception conditions wrong view, it's thought which conditions conceit. That is all the kinds of I am thoughts. Again you've probably noticed how strongly conditioned this compare in mind is in our conditioning. This tendency to judge and compare about almost everything."
