Clayton Christensen's disruption theory is an elegant one, but there are plenty of examples that just don't fit. The iPod didn't sneak up on Sony from below; Kodak not only developed the digital camera, it made a good income from the digital camera patents. These organisations weren't slow to see the change coming. Yet, they were unable to put together the right response.
