EU Chips - What Are the Goals of the EU Chip?
The goal is to double the global share in production of European microchips from currently around 10% to 20% by 2030. The other also ambition, of course, is to have bigger investment in frontier areas of microchips research. Washington needs to be a team player if they want their export control rules and their industrial policy moving forward without creating too much tension among OECD members. And we need to see more coordination across OECD countries so that nobody feels really left behind by Washington's policies.
